NEW CLASSES:
Discover your inner Bulgarian at the new Introduction to Balkan Dance class at UCD's Experimental College, Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. beginning January 18th 2012.
Beginning folk dance class at the Davis Art Center, Tuesdays from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Session one is from January 10th through February 14th; session two is from April 17th - May 22nd. (Davis Art Center class catalog, pdf format).
All Request Nights: January 15th 2012; February 19th 2012; April 8th 2012.
REGULAR CLASS MEETING
Our class meets Sunday evenings from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Davis Art Center located at 1919 F Street (the corner of F and Covell) in Davis. Each evening begins with easy dances as we warm up from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m; these dances are taught for anyone who doesn't know them. Then we teach several more dances, plus review dances taught the week before, from 7:30 - 9:00, and wind up with request dancing from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Art Center has a beautiful dance room with a real wooden dance floor! Clean, soft-soled non-marking dance shoes are required*. We are very pleased to join with the Art Center to provide this enjoyable recreational opportunity to the Davis community.
"Dance cards" may be purchased in class on Sunday nights, or from the Davis Art Center 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost for students with ID will be $25 for ten sessions for Davis Art Center members, or $35 for non-members; for everyone else the cost will be $25 for five sessions for D.A.C. members, or $35 for non-members. Your first visit is free!
*Please bring a separate pair of clean, non-marking shoes to wear on the lovely wooden dance floor. No "street shoes" allowed! In other words - if you've worn the shoes outdoors and they might have any dirt or grit on them, please bring a separate pair of shoes reserved just for dancing.
